Smithy
has great potential as an endurance or competitive trail
horse. He has been raised entirely on a large hilly
pasture and is very sure footed. He loads easily and
is very well mannered. He did great on his first limited
distance ride this October. He ate and drank very well
and kept up a steady trot, even through the rain on
the second loop. Smithy pulsed in immediately when he
entered the vet check. With conditioning he could make
a good competitor at multi-day rides, because he takes
such good care of himself and his rider. Smithy does
not spook easily on the trail and calmly led his group
across creeks and a wooden bridge on the ride. Smithy
is a mature horse, very suitable for a beginning to
intermediate rider. He is very personable, affectionate
and gentle. He gets along great with other horses in
the pasture too. He has excellent ground manners, loads
and hauls easily and stands tied quietly. Smithy will
make a great horse for someone who wants to compete
in endurance or competitive trail or just have a great
companion for trail rides.
