Honey is a very sweet mare that is perfect for someone wanting a horse that remains calm and confident whether she is at a horse show or on the trail. This horse really exhibits the “good mind” that most horse owners really want. Watch the video of her in the small crowded warm-up arena at the Texas State Fair. Even though this was her first show and the saddle-seat show horses were zipping past her, she stayed calm as she was started out in the dressage “free walk on a loose rein”. She just continued to do whatever her rider asked. She won both her Intro and Training Level classes with an incredible 69%. Most people show their horses for a year or more before they receive scores above 60%. She is also just as calm on the trail, with a nice, quiet forward walk, trot and canter.
Honey is a beautiful palomino color with a long thick tail. Don’t miss her liberty video where you can see her true beauty and natural movement. She is a nice size for most riders, standing 15 hands 1 inch. She will come to you in the pasture and likes to be petted, groomed and loved on. Of course, treats are always welcome too. She is half Saddlebred, but about the only trait she inherited from the Saddlebred side was her color. Honey would make a perfect horse for someone wanting to learn dressage or that has been taking dressage lessons and is ready for their first show horse. She takes care of her rider, even slowing down if her rider starts to lose their balance. She is also a great horse for someone wanting a really pretty, well trained horse for trail riding with friends or competitive trail. Give us a call if you would like to set up a time to see her. If you are working with a trainer or riding instructor, feel free to bring them with you.
